Basically, Global Marketing
is selling one product all over the world
- like an iPod
- and all the exporting
and logistical things necessary to do that
- basically a course on
specific tactics to export stuff made in one country to many countries
International Marketing
is adapting your product, to sell all over the world
- like a Big Mac
- this course would take
a lot of time to help students understand how you can lean about different
markets and cultures and what is needed to adapt the product/service
- keeping in mind that marketing is the 4P's (Product, Price, Promotion,
Place), Int'l marketing is how you change those P's to satisfy your international
customers in difference segments
- international marketing
usually includes some FDI Foreign Direct Investment in setting up overseas
offices, factories, warehouse facilities, service centres etc.
International Business
is Marketing + +, meaning knowing about NGO's such as the World Bank, WTO,
IMF, studying what is needed to import, government infleunce on trade such
as tariffs, dumping and subsidies, - sometimes a course on int'l business
may be a "survey course" and give a broad overview of all the things that
effect companies intending to export - but not get into specific tactics
of exporting like you would in a course on Global Marketing or International
Marketing (sometimes these courses are named International Business Management)
